Why Co-Active
When you search for "coaching", you find hundreds of approaches. Solution-focused, systemic, agile, integrative — the list is long, and honestly: for someone who has never done coaching, it all sounds pretty similar.
I want to tell you why I chose Co-Active. Not as a comparison of methods, but as someone who first experienced this approach firsthand — before deciding to learn it.
What happened to me
Before I became a coach, I was a client. I had worked in strategic procurement for over 20 years and was in a phase where I no longer knew where things should go. The question "Do I want to keep doing this for another 20 years?" grew louder and louder. Anyone who knows my story knows: there was more than just professional uncertainty.
I found my coach through a referral. She uses the Co-Active approach. And from the very first session, I could tell: This is different.
What was different
No one explained to me what my problem was. No one gave me any advice. No one looked at me as if I needed to be fixed.
What happened instead was something I hadn't expected. My coach asked questions. Not the kind of questions that expect a certain answer — but questions that opened spaces. Spaces where I began to listen to myself. Not to the noise in my head, but to what lay beneath it.
And there a force emerged that drove me forward. Not from the outside. From within. I began to sense that the answer was already within me. That I wasn't broken, but whole. That I had the resources to find my path — I just had to start trusting them.
The moment I realized this had something magical about it. Suddenly the path was there. Not fully planned, not perfect — but tangible. And with it came an energy I hadn't known for a long time.
What makes Co-Active unique
Co-Active coaching is based on a fundamental stance that shapes everything: you are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. That's not a slogan — it's the belief with which I meet you. No matter where you are right now.
What does that mean concretely? Co-Active doesn't look at what's "wrong". It looks at the whole person. Not just the problem occupying you today, but at you — with your story, your values, your way of perceiving the world.
This is also what distinguishes coaching from therapy. Therapy looks back — it helps you understand where you come from. Coaching looks forward — it helps you find out where you want to go. Both have their place. But the direction is different.
In Co-Active coaching, expertise doesn't lie with the coach. It lies with you. My job isn't to give you answers. My job is to create the space where you find your own.
For everyone—without exception
What convinces me most about Co-Active: it meets every person as an equal. Without judgment, without labels. It doesn't matter where you come from, how you identify, how your brain works, or what role you take in life. You are whole — exactly as you are.
Whether you're highly sensitive and perceive the world more intensely. Whether you think neurodivergently and sort things differently. Whether you're in a phase where you feel lost, or in one where you simply want to see more clearly. Co-Active meets you where you are — not where someone else thinks you should be.
Why I'm walking this path
I decided to do my Co-Active training at the Competence Training Institute — an institute in the Netherlands that offers the international program of the Co-Active Training Institute (CTI). CTI is one of the most renowned coach trainings worldwide and is accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). My goal: certification as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) and ICF accreditation as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC).
Not to impress with abbreviations, but because it's important to me that you know: what happens here has a solid foundation. Co-Active isn't a feel-good method. It's a rigorous, in-depth approach that has been walking with people for decades — worldwide.
What this means for you
Maybe you've landed here because you're wondering if coaching is something for you. Maybe the word "coaching" sounds to you like motivational quotes and flip charts. Or maybe you've already had coaching, and it felt superficial.
Co-Active isn't superficial. It goes deep. It's about you as a whole person — not a quick fix for a single problem. And it starts with a simple belief: everything you need is already within you. Sometimes you just need someone to help you see it.
What that concretely looks like — which formats, which packages, which framework — you'll find on my Services & Prices page.
If you want to try this out — not as a promise, but as an experience — then let's talk.
